Crocus Soundware is pleased to introduce LIMINAL: CHAMBER STRING TEXTURES VOLUME 1, a library of carefully recorded violin, viola and cello samples that can be played with the full version of Kontakt 6.6.1+. The articulations of the library are aleatoric, long and evolving, and the performer gives character and movement to each sample.

Recorded carefully and dryly, sounds are great for adding unpredictable nuances, details, and creative imperfections. This library is not designed for fast passages or soaring melodies. It is particularly suitable as a set of naturalistic pads, perfect for underlining or airy soundscapes.

The user interface allows you to layer, mix and reverse articulations. You can turn on the LFO controls, allowing your DAW's tempo to dictate the individual layer's volume modulation. This opens the door for tempo-synced blistering and opens up even more creative possibilities for developing texture.

LIMINAL: Winds is a library of closely recorded hand-crafted flutes - from a minuscule fife to a gargantuan Contra-Bass constructed out of 12 feet of industrial tubing. LIMINAL: Winds is playable using the full version of Kontakt 6.6.1. The library's articulations are expressive and evolving, with the performer imparting character and movement into each sample. The flutes were miked in proximity to the embouchure hole, providing characteristic breath and intimacy into each sample. The library is well-suited to add unpredictability and creative imperfection. The LIMINAL range is not intended for fast passages or soaring melodies. Instead, you may see the libraries as collections of naturalistic pads - offering orchestral details not found in something derived from a synthetic source. They are wonderful for underscoring or ethereal soundscapes.
